This FAQ is intended to answer questions frequently posed to us about the nature of our professional consulting services.
All kinds of small to medium organizations, including VoIP service providers, competitive carriers, and businesses seeking to deploy VoIP technology within or engineer VoIP-driven applications, products and services.
Our focus is on the intra-industrial channel; we are a "B2B" company in that we specialize in service delivery and technical backend infrastructure projects rather than end-user oriented technologies and support.
Please explore the rest of this FAQ, the Evariste Workshop web site, and our company web site to gain a clearer idea of the nature of this vertical and our core competencies.
We certainly do!
However, our business focus and specialization is service platforms and application infrastructure assisted by Asterisk, not support of Asterisk deployments in an intra-office IP PBX role. If you are looking for someone to install or maintain a unitary Asterisk PBX as such, please get in touch with us and we will be happy to recommend a professional affiliate.
In such typical business use cases, our point of involvement is when the requirement arises to scale Asterisk beyond a single machine into a larger installation that is equipped to handle a high volume of concurrent users, provides redundancy/high availability, services multiple campuses, and so on. We also provide the IP networking, QoS engineering, and IT systems expertise to make this work.
In more intra-industrial applications, we deploy Asterisk as a dedicated component in IP telephony service platforms to provide various features, logic, and so on.
We think FreeSWITCH is very interesting and are watching its development. However, we have not dealt with it very much at the time of this writing; of Asterisk and FreeSWITCH, our organizational experience and institutional memory is centered around Asterisk.

Yes. In fact, much of what we do revolves around this highly extensible product!
Most of our experience has been with Cisco SIP equipment, including Cisco ISDN/VoIP gateways. We deploy these frequently for our clients.
However, we have also dealt incidentally with a vast variety of other vendor equipment.
No. Depending on your needs, we may be able to provide some general guidance in this area, but our specialized domain knowledge does not include legal advice.
We would be happy to put you in touch with telecom attorneys and other insiders.
No. Becoming a competitive carrier is a complicated process predicated on a great deal of nontechnical requirements and can be capital-intensive. If you are thinking about going this route, we would like to recommend two leading veteran experts:
Yes; almost all of our customers have had VoIP-related application development needs, some of them very extensive.
Yes.
We'd like to, but unfortunately for the most part we are thwarted by the strict terms of various NDAs by which we are bound.
Because our services participate in the CAPEX arena for most of our clients rather than routine operational tasks, they are inclined to view the technical and financial details of their particular experience with us as trade secrets. Our consulting work is an integral part of our clients' competitive advantage.
However, we would be happy to provide you with various references, recommendations and testimonials privately, to the extent that it is possible within the aforementioned rubric.
Yes. But we are not in a position to make any guarantees without knowing anything about your spending.
We are routinely tapped by our clients to analyse telecommunications expenses and find better deals with different vendors, or to recast service types with the same vendors. We leverage quality relationships with some of the best agents, sales executives and consultants in the industry, along with the ISP and connectivity background that is part of our organizational capital.
Absolutely.
No. We are a service company and do not resell hardware. We will be glad to put you in touch with some excellent suppliers, and routinely do this for our clients as part of ongoing projects that require hardware purchasing.
